Eltham Lights Up 2013 - photos

View down Eltham High Street of an illuminated pirate ship approaching (from ?Treasure Island), with primary school children parading behind in the lantern procession.

A beautiful Fairy Godmother on stilts, from a nearby pantomime perhaps...

Two Georgian men wandering around Eltham High Street

A primary school group enthusiastically drums its way along the parade

and to finish, the spectacular fireworks, as ever, from the roof of M&S

Very well done to the organisers. It's a great event for children, families and the community generally to get together for some fun.

the fireworks might have been wonderful to people who was far away but for us who was at kfc or iceland it was not as we was hit and burnt by stray fireworks and hot ash. myself and 2 young daughters was hit and burnt like so many other people and children

Yes, I did hear that later, that some people closer to the fireworks, were getting hit by bits of firework. We even had some sparks land as far away as Passey Place where we were standing. I heard in the playground on Friday that some parents were going to make formal complaints, so hopefully this will be taken on board for future events. Not a nice experience for those affected - hope your daughters are ok.

The fireworks were great, although the sparks flew quite far.
