Local Election time in Eltham

Borough of Royal Greenwich's 17 Wards
It's very late in the day with the local elections and European Parliament elections taking place tomorrow, but I ought to acknowledge them at least. I had time last elections to go to town on analysis but sadly not this time.

This is a shame because Eltham has become the subject of some interest. See the 853 blog for an excellent piece on some of the local issues. The blog highlights the possible role of UKIP in affecting the results of the Eltham North and Eltham South wards particularly.

Last time there was no UKIP candidate of course. Eltham North is fielding its similar 'top team' of Tory candidates to try and maintain its hatrick representation of the ward. And what effect will a UKIP choice have on the BNP vote?

So here are the candidates for the Eltham North Ward:

My post with the 2010 results from other Eltham Wards here.

Eyes are on Eltham South this time because one of the 2010 Tory councillor, Eileen Glover, is now standing in this election as an Independent following her deselection. What effect will this, and a UKIP choice, have on the Tory vote?

So here are the candidates for the Eltham South Ward:

Candidates for the other other Greenwich wards can be found here.

For some interesting (left-ish-of-centre) analysis of the Lewisham election scene see Bob from Brockley and Claire's Diary.

See you after the results.
