Tonight I attended the meeting at St. Mary's Community Centre for the talk and slide show on 'Birds of SE9'. About 40 people turned up.
It was Eltham Nature Club's first public meeting and was a great success.
Membership is only £5 for a whole year. The next outdoor meeting will be a Bat Walk on 17th May at Avery Hill.

Wow, that was a good turnout. Obviously there's a gap in the market for 'birds of SE9', though I didn't realise that birds respected postcode boundaries! (Did he mention Eltham's famous parakeets though...?)

And, do you think the 'bat walk' would be suitable for two little kids?

The £5 membership sounds a bargain for such a wonderful club - there might be two more applications in the post...

Well, the postcode is only relevant inasmuch as we don't get that many golden eagles or albatrosses - well, not in my garden anyway!
SE9 caters more for robins, blackbirds and wrens - especially wrens! (private joke).

I'm sure the bat walk would be suitable for children - watch out for ads, nearer the time, in SEnine and Newsshopper.
